We create calm, respectful environments where clients know what to expect and feel heard.
Trauma-informed support • London & Southwestern Ontario
Maple & Mast brings compassionate, dependable personal support into the comfort of home. We help with personal care, meals, mobility, routines, companionship, respite, and the everyday tasks that make life safer and more manageable.
Our trauma-informed approach
Trauma-informed care begins with an understanding that a person’s behaviour, choices, and responses may be shaped by experiences we cannot always see.
At Maple & Mast, we prioritize emotional and physical safety, explain what is happening before we act, offer meaningful choice, preserve privacy, and build routines that feel predictable rather than intrusive.
We create calm, respectful environments where clients know what to expect and feel heard.
Clients remain active participants in decisions about routines, support, goals, and boundaries.
Consistency, honesty, clear communication, and follow-through form the foundation of every relationship.
We focus on strengths, confidence, independence, and progress at a pace that respects the individual.
In-home personal support and care
Services can be arranged as occasional assistance, regular scheduled visits, respite, or more intensive in-home support. We shape each visit around the person’s care plan, comfort, and daily routines.
Respectful assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meals, hydration, and daily routines—always guided by the client’s comfort, consent, and care plan.
Cognitive cueing, structured routines, fatigue-aware support, community participation, and family respite.
Patient, predictable care that protects dignity, avoids unnecessary triggers, and supports emotional safety.
Light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, errands, and organization that support a safe, comfortable home and greater independence.
Conversation, social connection, meaningful activities, appointments, outings, and community reintegration.
Dependable relief for family caregivers, with continuity, communication, and peace of mind.
“Dignity is not something you earn back. It is something we protect, every visit, every day.”
Who we support
For families
Families often become coordinators, advocates, caregivers, and crisis managers all at once. Our Personal Support Workers provide hands-on care and practical help at home so loved ones can remain in familiar surroundings while families breathe, reconnect, and focus on being family again.
Tell us what is happening, what feels difficult, and what would make life more manageable.
We identify goals, routines, preferences, risks, boundaries, and the kind of worker who will be the best fit.
We introduce support carefully, communicate clearly, and adjust as trust and needs evolve.

Helpful information
Clear answers for prospective clients, families, and Personal Support Workers.
For everyone
Maple & Mast provides personal support services using a client-centred, trauma-informed approach. Care is delivered with an emphasis on safety, respect, consent, choice, trust, and dignity.
Services may be helpful for seniors, veterans, first responders, people living with brain injuries or disabilities, people recovering from illness or injury, and others who need practical support at home or in the community. Each prospective client is assessed individually so that Maple & Mast can determine whether its services are appropriate for the person’s needs.
Trauma-informed care recognizes that past or current trauma may affect a person’s health, communication, behaviour, comfort, and sense of safety. PSWs use respectful communication, explain care before providing it, seek consent, offer choices where possible, protect privacy, and avoid judgment. Trauma-informed care does not replace medical or mental-health treatment.
Maple & Mast discusses the client’s needs, preferences, schedule, location, and requested supports before services begin. The agreed services, schedule, rates, responsibilities, and other applicable terms are then documented in the client service agreement or care plan.
Maple & Mast will consider a client’s preferences and work to provide a suitable match. Placement depends on client needs, PSW qualifications, availability, location, scheduling, and continuity of care, so a particular PSW cannot always be guaranteed.
For clients and families
Service arrangements are based on each client’s needs, visit schedule, and care plan. Maple & Mast will explain all applicable costs clearly and confirm them in writing before care begins.
Each visit follows the client’s care plan and may include personal care, mobility support, meal preparation, hydration, medication reminders, light household help, companionship, or respite. Maple & Mast will confirm the agreed supports before service begins.
Clients are billed for the authorized service time provided according to their service agreement and recorded visit times. Scheduling, cancellation, minimum-visit, and late-cancellation terms will be provided before service begins. We are happy to bill to insurance companies where it is available.
Depending on the client’s assessment and care plan, support may include personal care, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, hydration, mobility assistance, light household tasks, companionship, community participation, and medication reminders within the PSW’s authorized scope. Maple & Mast will explain which requested services it can safely provide.
Transportation may be available when it is included in the care plan, the assigned PSW is authorized to drive, appropriate insurance requirements are met, and the trip is approved. Transportation arrangements should be confirmed with Maple & Mast in advance.
PSWs are expected to explain care, seek consent, respect a client’s right to decline or pause a non-emergency task, protect confidential information, and report concerns through appropriate channels. Clients are encouraged to communicate their preferences, boundaries, and concerns.
Contact Maple & Mast as early as possible. The applicable notice period and any cancellation charge will be governed by the client service agreement.
